WebP to PNG Converter: frequently asked questions
How do I convert WebP to PNG?
Add your WebP files, select Convert to PNG and download the results. It works the same on Windows, Mac, Android and iPhone, in any modern browser.
How do I save a WebP image from a website as PNG?
Right-click the image and choose “Save image as”, which saves it as .webp. Then add that file here and convert it to PNG for apps that don’t open WebP, such as older editors and some upload forms.
Does converting WebP to PNG lose quality?
No further quality is lost, because PNG is lossless. The PNG cannot restore detail that was already removed when the WebP was saved with lossy compression.
Is transparency kept when converting WebP to PNG?
Yes. Transparent and semi-transparent areas stay transparent in the PNG, which makes it the right choice for logos and stickers.
Why is the PNG bigger than the WebP file?
WebP compresses images more efficiently than PNG, so the PNG is often several times larger. If size matters more than transparency, convert to JPG with the Image Converter or shrink the result with the Image Compressor.
Can I convert WebP to PNG in bulk?
Yes. Add up to 50 WebP images (200 MB in total) and download each converted PNG.
Are animated WebP files supported?
Only the first frame is converted, because a PNG image is not animated.
Is it safe to convert WebP to PNG here?
Yes. The conversion runs on your own device, and this page does not upload your images anywhere.
