Split PDF: frequently asked questions
How do I extract pages from a PDF?
Select the PDF, type the pages you want, such as 2-4, 7, and select Extract pages. The new PDF contains only those pages, and your original file is not changed.
How do I split a PDF by page range?
Use a dash for a range and commas between parts. For example, 1-5 takes pages 1 to 5, and 1-3, 10-12 takes two separate ranges into one new file. Page numbers start at 1.
How do I split a PDF into two files?
Run the tool twice. For a 20-page PDF, extract 1-10 and download it, then extract 11-20 and download the second file. Each run creates one PDF.
Can I save every page as a separate PDF?
Not in one step. This version puts the pages you list into one new PDF, so to get single-page files, extract one page number at a time.
Can I rearrange the pages of a PDF?
Yes. Pages are extracted in the order you type them, so 3, 1, 2 puts page 3 first. Type every page in your new order to reorder the whole document.
How do I remove pages from a PDF?
Extract every page except the ones you want to delete. For a 10-page PDF without page 4, type 1-3, 5-10.
Why are some extracted pages sideways?
The pages were already stored sideways in the original PDF. Fix them with Rotate PDF, which saves the new orientation in the file.
Can I split a password-protected PDF?
No. Remove the password in a PDF reader first and save an unlocked copy, then split that copy here.
